We were bummed when we got there too late to check out the infamous Monterey Aquarium, but I think we made up for some of that by choosing to stop by the excellent Sea Center. getting to touch sharks, starfish and sea urchins was a real treat.

There was a cool wet lab where the staff showed us how they can collect samples from the ocean and investigate them under microscopes. They had a grumpy crab which was returned at the end of the day.
It’s got enough stuff to keep everyone engaged for about an hour so it was a great rest stop for our brains.
