The Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel was an unexpected engineering treat we passed through on the way to the natural wonders of Zion National Park. It was built to increase the ease of access to the park… and maybe it worked too well? Zion surpassed five million visitors last year and is working hard to manage the crowds and the strains on the park. (And doing pretty well, from what I saw!)
