Ok, I did not attend the March for Science in DC or even in Pittsburgh. But that hasn’t stopped the fanboy in me from getting pretty excited about the line-up of speakers. So, to make up for my absence, I’ll try to summarize some of the best parts.
- Jon Batiste and his house band rocked the whole gig, starting with a fun rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
- Veritasium’s Dr. Derek Mueller (who’s last name I have apparently been butchering for years) was the co-host.
- Along with Questlove and Cara Santa Maria.
- My favorite chemistry YouTube creator, Tyler DeWitt made the first speech.
- Everyone’s favorite former Disney science presenter, Bill Nye was, of course there too.
- Ok, you want Thomas Dolby too? You got it.
- And a kicking cover of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World“?
For a full list of presenters, check out the March For Science website. It’s not done yet. They are planning a full week of goals and ideas. Consider getting involved and stand up for science. Read more about the event here.
